Unwanted: How Sexual Brokenness Reveals our Way of Healing
Jay Stringer has done groundbreaking research, interviewing more than 3,800 sex addicts. As he probed for root causes, Stringer became convinced that the sexual story we live out flows from the life circumstances and events that have shaped us and the shame and core beliefs we (incorrectly) have associated with those events. In order to heal from unwanted sexual behaviour, we need to address both the biological and situational factors that keep our struggle in place. But Stringer goes far beyond diagnosis. As both a person rooted in the kindness of God and a licenced therapist, Stringer shows how everything broken in us can be made whole. Transformed selves with new sexual stories are possible. As someone who is passionate to see people whole, I (James) now consider Unwanted a very precise and needed tool in my toolbelt.
