This has been a favourite go-to video for James and me (Claire) for years. Ichak Adizes is a global management consultant and academic. His teaching underscores the crucial importance for members of any people grouping to find a way to get along. His approach seeks to optimize performance and facilitate change without destructive conflict. It can be applied to any system, whether that system is a business, an individual, a family, or even a country, and he gives examples of all of them.

Adizes says that the success of any system depends on one primary factor: whether or not there is trust and respect at the core of that system. If there is a lot of “noise” on the inside (i.e. no trust and respect), the system cannot accomplish much. Before an individual or a company can get traction in their world, they need to develop some trust and respect internally. Take a listen to this brilliant man.
