In this podcast, I (James) experienced a paradigm shift. God wants my humility more than he wants my excellence! Hmmm. For a long time I had a passion for being outstanding at whatever I tackled. And that is a good trait. Being extremely good at what I did fit right in with the work ethic I received from my heritage, but it only took me so far. I have found that God doesn’t want my excellence as much as he wants my humble honesty, so he can download into me his excellence.

Interviewee Bill Thrall says, “Humility is trusting God and others with me.” He talks about creating safe places for people to be human, which can only happen when grace is experiential and foundational. This podcast is especially helpful for those frustrated with religion and weary of the grind. It offers freeing language and perspective for the spiritual .
